Event Type: STEAM Lab
Come to the STEAM Lab at 2pm to learn about the partial solar eclipse. We have 30 special glasses from NASA that we will be handing out to participants to view the partial eclipse at its peek at 2:30pm. Since we have such a limited number of glasses, we are encouraging parents and children to share a pair. For safety, all participants must check in at the lab before receiving glasses to view the eclipse at 2:30pm. We will accept sign-ups at the front desk in person when we open this morning at 10am. Visitors can also create pinhole cameras to take home, pinhole "sun" cardboard viewers (these project the eclipse onto the ground), and during the eclipse younger children can participate in a shadow puppet craft, pocket sun clocks and eclipse chalk art. Information about eclipse safety can be found here: https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov/safety Free with museum admission.
