SUMMARY:Exploring Our Way: Sensory Friendly Playtime
DESCRIPTION:For some children\, a museum visit is challenging and over-stimulating. The Exploring Our Way: Sensory Friendly playtimes are exclusive to families of children with special needs. These reduced admission\, low-sensory events are designed for children with autism spectrum or sensory processing disorders to explore the Museum along with their families without the noise\, crowds\, and stimulation of a typical day. The museum is closed to the public during Exploring Our Way playtimes. We limit attendance\, turn down sounds and lights\, provide a quiet zone with sensory activities\, and have noise-canceling headphones to borrow. A medical diagnosis is not required. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate your child’s next birthday with us! Birthday Parties are available to book at CMNH on Friday\, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Families have access to a private classroom area for food and cake\, along with complete access to the museum’s exhibits. The museum is closed to the public during birthday parties\, however parties are at the same time and are NOT private. If you want a private party\, you must book both party times. Parents are expected to stay with their children while playing in the museum\, and help them follow museum rules. Children may not be left unattended at any time.
