FULL - Fairy House & Gnome Home Building WORKSHOP

It’s almost time for the Children’s Museum of NH’s first annual Fairy House & Gnome Home Spring Celebration! Are you interested in making a house for the celebration, but not sure where to start? Join us at the museum for this Adult/Child Workshop! Participants will have access to many natural materials to use to design their own fairy house or gnome home. Each child will also get to decorate a little wooden fairy door and mesh dragonfly ornament! Take your house home and find it a special spot in your yard and/or bring it back to the Museum for our Fairy House & Gnome Home Spring Celebration happening May 13, 14 & 15 (Drop off on Friday, May 13th). This workshop is sponsored by Great Island Realty. Cost per adult/child pair: $15 for Members, $20 for non-Members. $5 per additional child. Cost of workshop does NOT include museum admission. Online reservations required.

Science Fun Mini Camp

Tuesday, July 19 - Thursday, July 21
8:30am-11:30am

This summer, mini campers ages 4 & 5 will have a blast exploring science! Campers will explore science and art through messy experiments, creative crafts, incredible art projects, and more! These Mini Camp half-day programs start with play time in the museum, and includes science experiments, building activities, art projects and more. Enjoy bubbles and chalk art outdoor play time (weather permitting), and take home fun creations each day. Children must be able to use the bathroom independently to participate in this camp. Campers should pack a water bottle and snack for this half-day camp. Masks are optional.

Cost is $110 for CMNH Members, $125 for Non-members

Online registration and pre-payment required. Registration closes two weeks before each camp. All camps are limited to 12 children per camp. Please note that we cannot offer refunds for these camps unless we can fill your spot.

Member registration begins March 22 for Members and March 24 for non-members.

Amazing Art Mini Camp

Tuesday, August 2 - Thursday, August 4
8:30am-11:30am

This camp is designed to encourage the artist within each camper! Using a variety of materials, each child (ages 4 & 5) will engage in the process of creating sculptures, wearable art, and much more. Campers will explore their creative potential and go home with some fabulous works of art! End the session with a mini art show for all to attend! These Mini Camp half-day programs start with play time in the museum, and includes science experiments, building activities, art projects and more. Maskedsteam

High Flying STEAM Discovery Camp

Tuesday, August 9 - Thursday, August 11
8:30am-11:30am

Campers, ages 6-7 will try out amazing science experiments and learn all about things that can fly, float, and move! Campers will think like engineers and build structures to test out, and think like scientists and try some messy, fun projects. Each day will feature hands-on STEAM experiments as well as projects to take home.

Every day starts with play time in the Museum, followed by activities in the classroom, and time to play games and have a snack outside in the park. Campers bring along water and a snack for this half-day camp. Campers will be required to wear masks, as requested by camp educator.

Cost is $110 for Members or $125 for Non-Members

Camp Details

Forms: Please fill out this Emergency Contact & Health Form and return it to your educator through email (you can reach them by replying to your camp confirmation email), or bring it with you on your first day of class.

Drop off & Pick up: Participants should be dropped off promptly at 8:30am (doors to regular museum visitors will be locked until 9am) and picked up at 11:30am. Pick-up will take place in the camp classroom. We will only release a child once we see the authorized adult picking them up. We appreciate your prompt arrival to pick up your camper! If you have never been to the museum before, here are some directions and some helpful tips about parking.

Snack(s): Please have your camper bring his/her own snack(s) and a water bottle. We ask that any food your camper brings has NO nut products, including peanuts or tree nuts.

Clothing & Footwear: Please have your camper come prepared to get messy! Although smocks are available, we do ask that participants wear clothing that is appropriate for various hands-on projects. Please also have your camper wear shoes that have backs (no flip flops).

Refunds: Please note that we cannot offer refunds on these camps unless we can fill your spot. If your child is displaying COVID symptoms and unable to attend a camp you have registered for, please email us at questions@childrens-museum.org to discuss options.

Summer Camp COVID Policy: We ask our camp families to follow the same protocols and policies that we have for all museum visitors and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. This policy applies to any care giver or family member entering the museum for pick up and drop up, as well as the campers during their camp day.

  • We ask that you do not come to camp if your child or anyone in your immediate family is sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19
  • While the museum has shifted its mask policy to include "Mask Required" and "Mask Optional" days, the rules for camp are a bit different. Campers attending the August 9-11 Discovery Camp will be required to wear masks, as requested by the camp educator. The other camps will be mask optional. Gaiters and bandanas do not qualify as acceptable face masks.
  • Snack and water breaks will take place outside, weather permitting.
  • Please keep in mind that the museum is currently doing timed ticketed entry. If you plan to stay and play after a day at camp, please check the current hours and ticket availability.
