Families have access to a private classroom area for food and cake, along with complete access to the museum's exhibits. The museum is closed to the public during birthday parties, however parties are at the same time and are NOT private. If you want a private party, you must book both party times. Parents are expected to stay with their children while playing in the museum, and help them follow museum rules. Children may not be left unattended at any time. Online booking required. Featured Little ArtistsChildren's Museum 6 Washington Street, Dover, NH, United StatesMonday, December 1 (one class), 10:45-11:30am Join us for Little Artists at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire. We are excited to invite little artists (ages 3.5–5 years old) to our December session, offered on the first Monday of the month! This 45 minute drop-off class includes a story and an art project to take home. Grown-ups are welcome to stay in the building during class time, and families with siblings may opt to play on the second floor during the class time - please note that the museum is closed to the public on Mondays. Toddler Tinker Time
Children's Museum 6 Washington Street, Dover, NH, United StatesJoin us for a weekly program that emphasizes the importance of tinkering! Tinkering helps little ones develop fine motor skills, increases problem solving abilities, and is an open invitation to foster peer relationships! What is tinkering?! Tinkering can range from taking something apart and putting it back together to making an open-ended sculpture, to playing with “loose parts” and special science tools. We will have different activities every week and some old favorites will pop up again and again. Want to join in? Simply reserve spots in the museum’s morning play session that correspond to the date of the Toddler Tinker Time you want to join - it’s included with museum admission, and as always, free for Members! Exploring Our Way: Sensory Friendly Playtime
Children's Museum 6 Washington Street, Dover, NH, United StatesFor some children, a museum visit is challenging and over-stimulating. The Exploring Our Way: Sensory Friendly playtimes are exclusive to families of children with special needs. These reduced admission, low-sensory events are designed for children with autism spectrum or sensory processing disorders to explore the Museum along with their families without the noise, crowds, and stimulation of a typical day. The museum is closed to the public during Exploring Our Way playtimes. We limit attendance, turn down sounds and lights, provide a quiet zone with sensory activities, and have noise-canceling headphones to borrow. A medical diagnosis is not required.
