Books Alive with Bruce the Bear
Bruce the bear, that grumpy cook and mother to geese and mice, will be visiting the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire to greet young fans and help promote the love of reading! Books Alive seeks to make reading a regular family experience. Museum educators will be doing a story time while a friendly (but still grumpy) costumed Bruce visits! Bruce will be available for hugs, high-paws, and photos at 10am during the morning play session (9am–noon) on Sunday. The story time lasts approximately 30 minutes—please time your arrival accordingly to guarantee a visit with Bruce. Want to meet Bruce? Toddler Tinker Time: Puppets
Join us for a weekly program that emphasizes the importance of tinkering! Tinkering helps little ones develop fine motor skills, increases problem solving abilities, and is an open invitation to foster peer relationships! What is tinkering?! Tinkering can range from taking something apart and putting it back together to making an open-ended sculpture, to playing with “loose parts” and special science tools. We will have different activities every week and some old favorites will pop up again and again. Want to join in? Baby Storytime
Babies (ages 6 months–2 years) and their caregivers are welcome to join Baby Storytime at the Children’s Museum of NH! This weekly program features songs, rhymes, movement ideas, and books for babies and their caregivers and introduces important pre-literacy skills along the way! This drop-in program and informal playgroup is a great way to socialize with other babies and caregivers. Want to join in? Artist Visit: Elise Morissette
Visit the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire today during the morning play session, 9am–Noon, and meet one of our Gallery 6 artists, Elise Morissette, at 10:30am. Elise will guide visitors as they try some Suminagashi—Floating Ink Art! Try this relaxing style of printmaking where water carries ink in swirls and colorful rings. No experience necessary and perfect for all ages. The fun is included with museum admission and free for Members. Elise’s work is currently on view in the museum’s Gallery 6 “Stroll the Rainbow” art exhibition. Learn More
