    Clifford the Big Red Dog, that pup grown ginormous from LOVE, will be visiting the museum to greet young fans and help promote the love of reading! Books Alive seeks to make reading a regular family experience. Museum educators will be doing a story time while a friendly costumed Clifford visits! Clifford will be available for hugs, high-paws, and photos at 10am during the morning play session (9am–noon) and at 2pm during the afternoon play session (1–4pm). Each story time lasts approximately 30 minutes—please time your arrival accordingly to guarantee a visit with Clifford. There will also be a variety of Clifford-inspired literacy, math, and creative activities. Want to meet Clifford? Simply reserve spots in the museum’s morning or afternoon play session that correspond to the date of the Books Alive program you want to join—it’s included with museum admission and, as always, free for Members!     S.C.A.R.E. stands for Secondhand Costume Annual Redistribution Effort—and their efforts are coming to the Children’s Museum of NH in Dover for a free costume giveaway. This event is open to the public, but to stay and play in the museum exhibits, normal museum admission applies. Come check out all the amazing free costumes, sign a simple waiver, and take home some Halloween magic for the kids. Costumes range in size from infant up to adult sizes. Visitors are welcome to bring in costumes to donate to S.C.A.R.E., but it is not required to participate.
