Families have access to a private classroom area for food and cake, along with complete access to the museum's exhibits. The museum is closed to the public during birthday parties, however parties are at the same time and are NOT private. If you want a private party, you must book both party times. Parents are expected to stay with their children while playing in the museum, and help them follow museum rules. Children may not be left unattended at any time. Online booking required. Exploring Our Way: Sensory Friendly Playtime
Children's Museum 6 Washington Street, Dover, NH, United StatesFor some children, a museum visit is challenging and over-stimulating. The Exploring Our Way: Sensory Friendly playtimes are exclusive to families of children with special needs. These reduced admission, low-sensory events are designed for children with autism spectrum or sensory processing disorders to explore the Museum along with their families without the noise, crowds, and stimulation of a typical day. The museum is closed to the public during Exploring Our Way playtimes. We limit attendance, turn down sounds and lights, provide a quiet zone with sensory activities, and have noise-canceling headphones to borrow. A medical diagnosis is not required. Junior Science Class: Amazing Animals
Featured Junior Science ClassChildren's Museum 6 Washington Street, Dover, NH, United StatesMondays, January 5-26th (Four weeks), 9:30-10:15am Join us for Junior Science at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire. We are excited to invite junior scientists (ages 3.5–5 years old) to our January session, offered on Monday mornings! This 45 minute drop-off class includes a story and a fun science experiment related to each month’s theme. Grown-ups are welcome to stay in the building during class time, and families with siblings may opt to play on the second floor during the class time - please note that the museum is closed to the public on Mondays. Cost is Members $60/child; Non-Members $66/child. Pre-registration is required. STEAM programs at the Museum are sponsored in part by Granite State Development Corporation and Breezeline.
