Books Alive with Bruce the Bear
Bruce the bear, that grumpy cook and mother to geese and mice, will be visiting the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire to greet young fans and help promote the love of reading! Books Alive seeks to make reading a regular family experience. Museum educators will be doing a story time while a friendly (but still grumpy) costumed Bruce visits! Bruce will be available for hugs, high-paws, and photos at 10am during the morning play session (9am–noon) on Sunday. The story time lasts approximately 30 minutes—please time your arrival accordingly to guarantee a visit with Bruce. Want to meet Bruce? Simply reserve spots in the museum’s morning or afternoon play session that correspond to the date of the Books Alive program you want to join—it’s included with museum admission and, as always, free for Members! Celebrate your child's next birthday with us! Birthday Parties are available to book at CMNH on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Families have access to a private classroom area for food and cake, along with complete access to the museum's exhibits. The museum is closed to the public during birthday parties, however parties are at the same time and are NOT private. If you want a private party, you must book both party times. Parents are expected to stay with their children while playing in the museum, and help them follow museum rules. Children may not be left unattended at any time. Online booking required. Artist Visit: Elise Morissette
Visit the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire today during the morning play session, 9am–Noon, and meet one of our Gallery 6 artists, Elise Morissette, at 10:30am. Elise will guide visitors as they try some Suminagashi—Floating Ink Art! Try this relaxing style of printmaking where water carries ink in swirls and colorful rings. No experience necessary and perfect for all ages. The fun is included with museum admission and free for Members. Elise’s work is currently on view in the museum’s Gallery 6 “Stroll the Rainbow” art exhibition. Learn More
