The Museum is closed to the public during Birthday Parties. Please note that the museum is constructing two new exhibits, so some exhibits have been re-imagined and relocated around the building.
Birthday Parties include:
2 hours of fun for up to 40 people
Full use of museum indoor exhibits
Art activities in our Muse Studio
Access to a private party room to enjoy food and presents
Party Times
Fridays: 1 party reservation available both from 4-6pm. Access to Private Party Room from 5:30-6pm.
Sundays: 1 party reservation available both from 1-3pm. Access to Private Party Room from 2:30-3pm.
Please do not arrive before your party start time, as we will not be able to let you into the museum.
Party Rules
By booking a Birthday Party, you and your guests agree to follow all museum rules. Adults are expected to stay with their children at all times and help them follow museum rules.
Birthday Parties are limited to 40 guests - this includes the party family as well as ALL adults and children who come to your party. Please do not exceed this limit. Your guests will be asked to sign in with CMNH staff upon arrival.
Only tabletop decorations are allowed, and only in the party room. Balloons and Pinatas are not allowed, nor is anything with confetti or glitter. Nothing may be taped or pinned to the party wall, including Happy Birthday banners.
All food or drink must be kept and consumed inside the party classroom. Alcohol is not permitted.
Children may not be left unattended anywhere in the museum.
Please help clean up after yourselves in the party room.
Reservations
Birthday Parties are available to book online. If you see that a date is not available, it is booked.
When you book, you will be required to pay in full. To receive your $20 member discount, register for our ticketing site, and log-in before making your reservation.

Cancellations
If you need to cancel your Birthday Party:
Notify us at least 14 days before your event to receive a full refund minus a $100 cancellation fee.
If you cancel without providing timely notice, we can help you reschedule for another day, but refunds will not be available. In the case of illness or inclement weather, we can reschedule a party to a future date/time based on availability.
